The Company

Our client is a global leading manufacturer in the Medical Technology space, with over 16,000 employees worldwide and operating in over 50 countries.  Their Workplace Infrastructure division plays a key role in maintaining efficient workflows, safety and infection prevention.

The Role

The Business Unit Manager - Workplace Infrastructure, will be responsible for developing and implementing the overall business strategy for Workplace Infrastructure, including identifying new market opportunities, developing sales and marketing plans, and managing key customer relationships. They will also be responsible for overseeing the performance of the sales and project management teams, ensuring that they are meeting their targets and delivering high-quality solutions to customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the business unit's strategic plan in alignment with the company's objectives. Identify growth opportunities, market trends, and competitive threats to drive sustainable business growth.
  • Global and Local Communication: Communicate new and existing Workplace Infrastructure (WPI) developments locally and translate Global strategies for a cohesive fit locally. Serve as the Australia/New Zealand contact point for global interactions to ensure a business plan is developed within global guidelines and local needs.
  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team, providing direction, coaching, and mentorship to foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Ensure the team is aligned with the unit's goals and objectives.
  • Financial Management: Manage the business unit's budget, resources, and financial performance to achieve revenue and profitability targets. Implement cost-effective measures and optimize resource allocation to maximize return on investment.
  • Product Offering: Drive innovation and offering development initiatives to meet customer needs, enhance market competitiveness, and capitalize on emerging opportunities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring new offerings to market efficiently.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders to understand their needs, address concerns, and drive customer satisfaction. Champion a customer-centric approach to business operations.
  • Corporate Accounts and Industry Partnerships: Develop and manage relationships with corporate accounts, identifying opportunities for growth and expansion. Establish and maintain industry partnerships to enhance the business unit's market presence and offerings.
  • Internal Relationships: Engage and collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Business Support, Commercial, Service, and Marketing to meet market and customer requirements.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the business unit's performance against strategic objectives. Regularly monitor and analyse performance data to identify areas for improvement and make informed decisions.
About You
 
  • 5 years Medical Device industry experience
  • Strong strategic planning and business development skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with the capacity to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Financial acumen and experience managing budgets and financial performance
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing high-performing teams
